Frequently Asked Questions
First sessions can be nerve-racking if you have never had a professional massage before. And even if you have, no two therapists are the same. A session at Winter Tree Massage Therapy all starts with the intake form that is emailed out to you. This lets me know your health history, what medications you may be taking, past and present injuries, and what your reason and goal are for the session. Having this filled out in advance will ensure that when you arrive, we do not take away any hands-on time with paperwork. Once you arrive for your initial visit + consultation appointment we will discuss your session in detail and put a treatment plan together.
In a massage session, I always knock before re-entering the treatment room. You will be draped with sheets and a blanket for the entire session. Only the areas we are working on will be uncovered and at no time will private areas be exposed or worked on. No matter what type of session you come in for your session is all about you and communication is KEY! At any time you are encouraged to speak up if the room is too cold/hot if you prefer a different type of music if the pressure or technique I am applying needs to be adjusted or for any reason, you want to end the session just let me know. This ensures we design the best session possible for YOU and I promise my feelings will not be hurt. I much prefer to adjust your session at the moment
The simple answer is no. I focus on getting to the root of any chronic pain or discomfort. Wherever that might present itself in your body.
